This week Bo and I spoke about Calvin and Hobbes – I know, I know, I said it would be Tintin but he changed his mind, although he asked me to to write here that actually we couldn’t find the Tintin book. Which we now have.
Bo and I talk about Calvin and Hobbes, life in the the 1990s and how snakes pee. I feel like Bo has always liked comics. I don’t know if that’s because we have a lot around the house or something else but he really loves reading them. Although he gets a lot of comics through Comixology he still enjoys going to the library and rummaging through the collection there. We love our library so much. They have a really diverse collection with a lot of comics and what they call ‘sophisticated picture books’. In the introduction to this podcast I also get excited about Wellington City Libraries eLibrary, which you can read about here
I also wanted to let you know about an event that’s coming up on January 23 at Mahara Gallery in Waikanae. Jordan Hartt, who I spoke with in the last episode, and I are going to take part in a meeting over books. It should be fun and it would be cool if you could come. There’s more information about the event here
Finally, if you want to find out more about Dyslexia, the Dyslexia Foundation of New Zealand has a helpful website here, which you can access in a few different ways, not all of them lexical.
